Planting trees to help the environment.
Our mission is to improve soil health, reduce erosion, create natural habitat and improve water quality in Tasmania’s rural areas.
We do this by encouraging farmers and landowners to plant native trees on their land. much of Tasmania’s rural areas have been transformed since European settlement. large areas of native bush have been cleared to make space for crops pasture and forestry. Although this clearing has made farming easier it has also negatively impacted much of the land habitat and waterways.
Why grow a native tree?
Growing native trees such as eucalyptus, acacia, she oak and many others can positively impact your property. in addition to a wide range of environmental benefits such as native animal habitat and reduced erosion. you can also improve productivity of your farm and leave a lasting legacy.
